Joe Babad
Founder, Director of Operations
With more than a decade of experience in all aspects of construction, Joe started out his career as head of the maintenance department in a construction firm, managing multiple crews and facilities. His role as Director of REO repairs required his expertise in fully overseeing rehabilitation projects across a half a dozen states – from initial inspection and all through the construction process.
In 2017, Joe founded Uppercase Wood with a focus on smaller-scale projects. Just a few years later, he joined Shlomo Kahan in establishing Somota. Known for his forward-thinking, creative approach, Joe is always there for clients, engaging with them to implement their visions and keep them constantly in the loop on progress. His hands-on interaction with installation crews ensures all work is completed beyond the industry standards.

Shlomo's been crafting and building furniture from the very young age of 5 or 6 years old. In 2018, he embarked on a path to facilitate small-scale residential projects when he founded Silver Tree Furniture.
With Somota's subsequent launch, Shlomo has been proficiently advancing the business through innovative technologies that upgrade performance and streamline the process for an exceptional customer experience. Coordinating the moving parts of each project to ensure optimum outcomes, he oversees superior overall management of the company's back-end operations.
